Equipment is visually inspected and tested with a portable appliance tester. If the equipment passes it is fitted with a durable bar-coded tag along with showing who tested it, the test date and when the next test is due. If a test fails, we consult with you to work out a cost-effective resolution. The AS/NZS 3760 is the Australian Standard that provides guidelines and regulations for the test and tag industry with regards to electrical safety of appliances. It provides recommendations such as test and tag intervals, defines who can test and tag devices and other general guidelines.
For office environments, it is recommeded to test & tag your appliances every 12 monhts. Industries such as construction, demolition and mining are required to have their devices tested and tagged every 3 months. For factories, warehouses and production environments, it is recommended to test and tag your devices every 6 months.
