Thermographic Imaging

Our inspectors will visually inspect your plant and equipment with the use of a thermal imaging camera to assess the heat generated within electrical and mechanical switchboards and other equipment to ensure that they are operating at optimum efficiency and are totally safe.

This procedure is very important as all plant and equipment are subject to deterioration. The older the equipment is, the greater the contact resistance and subsequent rise in temperature. If this is not corrected, this rise in temperature will continue to increase and may lead to equipment failure and a possible a fire hazard. Upon inspection, a detailed report is then compiled including images, test results and recommendations for preventative maintenance.

Identifying and addressing this potential hazard prior to equipment failure can save much time and costly repairs. It is recommended to conduct thermographic inspections annually or more frequently for critical plant equipment.

It is now becoming commonplace for insurance companies to require annual testing as part of the insurance policy.
